- Jan 13, 2010 – Ellis County Deputy Sheriff Zapata orders Reed Bates to ride on the shoulder. Arrests him when he refuses. Charges him with “Operating a Bicycle on Roadway”.
- Jan 14, 2010 – Ennis PD Officer Watson arrests Reed while he is traveling to home from jail in Waxahachie for “Impeding Traffic”.
- March 10, 2010 – Reed Bates released from being held for 27 hours in jail for “impeding traffic” after being arrested by Ennis PD Officer McCurdy.
